Behind the Scenes of Life-Saving Care: SHSM Co-op Students Visit Canadian Blood Services

Two of our dedicated Health and Wellness SHSM co-op students recently had the incredible opportunity to go behind the scenes at the Canadian Blood Services production site in Brampton. This was a truly unique, first-hand experience that allowed them to step outside the classroom and witness the vital inner workings of "Canada’s Lifeline." During their visit, the students observed the entire life-saving journey of a donation, seeing exactly how blood is processed, packed, and transported through a complex logistics network to reach hospitals across the country. By witnessing this high-stakes production and delivery process up close, our co-op students gained an invaluable perspective on the essential role of laboratory science and healthcare logistics in saving lives every day.
