In November, Woodbridge College started the month with the Grade 9 Take Our Kids to Work Day and welcome Grade 8 students in the Take Our Kids to High School Day. We will be honoring Remembrance Day on November 11th, welcoming families and future Woodbridge College students to our Grade 8 Open House on Thursday, November 27th.

Smile Cookie fundraiser with Tim Hortons

We are excited to let you know that Student Nutrition Programs in Vaughan and Richmond Hill have been selected once again to be the recipients of the Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie campaign!

Next week, November 17-23, 2025, Tim Hortons will host the Holiday Smile Cookie campaign. 100% of proceeds will be split 50/50 between Tims Camps and York Region Food for Learning to support student nutrition programs located in Vaughan and Richmond Hill. 

The more “Holiday Smile Cookies” sold, the more money schools could receive to buy food and/or equipment for student nutrition programs. So, it’s worthwhile for all of us to do all we can to share this information to buy cookies! Order Form But we can’t do it without your help and support.

 

Understanding and Navigating the Education System - Families of YRDSB Black Students Monthly Virtual Information Session 

Families, parents, and caregivers, please join us on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for our monthly virtual meeting, where families with Black children come together to learn about resources and upcoming programs for Black students in both elementary and secondary schools. Winter Lights:  A Unity in Diversity Celebration

Join us for a Winter Lights: A Unity in Diversity Celebration, a YRDSB community event that will take place on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Thornhill Secondary School.

This celebration is open to all students, families, and community members from across the region, honouring the richness of cultural diversity through the shared symbolism of light during the winter season. 

Our theme this year, “Unity in Diversity: Light Across Cultures,” reflects the universal symbolism of light as a source of hope, wisdom, and renewal. Across cultures, light represents reflection, gratitude, and togetherness, values that unite us beyond boundaries and remind us of our shared humanity.

We look forward to celebrating this with you and making it a truly memorable event.

SEAS 2025 Family Engagement Series Launch

Supporting East Asian Students (SEAS) in partnership with Inclusive School and Community Services (ISCS) invite students, families and staff to the SEAS 2025 Family Engagement Series Launch - Sharing Student Success & Pathway Planning. 

This Family Engagement evening will focus on understanding educational pathways and celebrating student success. English, Mandarin, and Cantonese sessions will be available. All are welcome to enjoy cultural performances, refreshments and a pathway information session.

Black Youth Mental Wellness and Empowerment Series: R.I.S.E Program

NACCA is delivering a virtual, 8-week Africentric mental wellness workshop series for Black youth up to gr. 12 who reside in York Region. All sessions will be supported by a mental health clinician. Please see the flyer for more information and registration.

This year, OUAC/OCAS transmission dates are before the YRDSB midterm report distribution dates.  To support students in making informed decisions about their courses prior to mark transmissions, please be aware of these important dates:

  • November 14 - This is the date that Grade 11 and 12 marks are uploaded to OCAS
  • November 20 - This is the date that Grade 11 and 12 marks are uploaded to OUAC
  • November 28 - This is the date any Grade 11 and 12 courses will permanently appear on your transcript. Courses dropped by this date will not show on a student’s transcript

If you need assistance with your decision-making, please speak with your parent/guardian and then make a Guidance appointment.

  • If you do not want OCAS/OUAC to see your courses, then you must have a Guidance appointment before November 13th.
  • If you do not want your courses to appear on your transcript, then you must have a Guidance
    appointment before November 27th.

Please be advised attached information was shared with grade 12 students and families regarding graduation photo booking. Online appointments are open from December 8 to December 11 from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm .

Appointments and payments are done online through their website. Students will receive a reminder a day before their appointments. Proofs are both mailed and emailed to the students and packages are sent directly home. More information on how to register .

The Pathways Team in Curriculum and Instructional Services, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD), is excited to invite Elementary students in Grades 7–8 and Secondary students in Grades 9–12 to the Level Up! Skilled Trades Career Fair

This Ontario-wide, multi-day event connects students with leading skilled trades professionals and opens the door to future career possibilities. Attendees will explore hands-on activities, interactive exhibits, and gain valuable mentorship from industry experts, businesses, associations, and post-secondary institutions.

✨ Open House events are free-of-charge and run from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at all 12 locations.
