We will be honoring Remembrance Day on November 11th, welcoming families and future Woodbridge College students to our Grade 8 Open House on Thursday, November 27th.

GIVE (Get Involved Volunteer in Education) Fall Training Session

We are pleased to invite YRDSB parents, guardians, school assistants, and community members to take part in the GIVE (Get Involved, Volunteer in Education) training program. This engaging and meaningful program is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, tools, and skills to contribute as volunteers in diverse and impactful ways. Through GIVE, participants will strengthen parent, school, community, and student connections, fostering deeper engagement and collaboration.

Black Youth Mental Wellness and Empowerment Series: R.I.S.E Program

NACCA is delivering a virtual, 8-week Africentric mental wellness workshop series for Black youth up to gr. 12 who reside in York Region. All sessions will be supported by a mental health clinician. Please see flyer for more information and registration.

BFCN Scholarship Application Workshop

The Black Foundation of Community Networks (BFCN), in collaboration with YRDSB, is offering a free online Scholarship Application Workshop on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This workshop is designed for high school students and will guide them through how to search, prepare, and apply for scholarships and bursaries. This year, OUAC/OCAS transmission dates are before the YRDSB midterm report distribution dates.  To support students in making informed decisions about their courses prior to mark transmissions, please be aware of these important dates:

  • October 3- first upload to OCAS
  • November 6- first upload to OUAC
  • November 12 - This is the date that Grade 11 and 12 teacher(s) will share midterm marks with students
  • November 13 - Pathways Night at Emily Carr Secondary School - come visit college, university, apprenticeship, and workplace booths
  • November 14 - This is the date that Grade 11 and 12 marks are uploaded to OCAS
  • November 20 - This is the date that Grade 11 and 12 marks are uploaded to OUAC
  • November 19 to 21 - report cards are e-transmitted
  • November 28 - This is the date any Grade 11 and 12 courses will permanently appear on your transcript. Courses dropped by this date will not show on a student’s transcript

If you need assistance with your decision-making, please speak with your parent/guardian and then make a Guidance appointment.

  • If you do not want OCAS/OUAC to see your courses, then you must have a Guidance appointment before November 13th.
  • If you do not want your courses to appear on your transcript, then you must have a Guidance
    appointment before November 27th.

Parent-Teacher interview night

During Parent-Teacher Interview Night, families were invited to learn different pathways and learn the fundamentals of backwards planning for post-secondary education using MyPathwayPlanner. Here is a copy of the slide deck from that evening.
