Woodbridge College offers a wide range of business learning experiences that build practical skills and provide opportunities to explore our world. 

The Business Department has an active and committed staff who provide many opportunities for extended learning through activities such as DECA and various field studies.

We are committed to providing courses that enhance students' knowledge, attitude, skills, and development. 

Our students are better prepared for contributing to our community and beyond, for university or college and later successful careers where they will compete successfully in both Canadian and global markets. 

Students leave with the ethical standards, critical thinking skills and a willingness to embrace change, needed for life-long learning.​​​​

Students enrolled in Business Studies courses will:

  • have in-depth preparation for university, college, or employment
  • be able to participate in the Specialist High Skills Major Business program
  • have an opportunity to join the Woodbridge College DECA chapter
  • hear from community and business guest speakers
  • have a variety of field trip opportunities
  • understand the forces that influence our laws and economy
  • learn industry-standard software​

​Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM)

Specialist High Skills Majors let students focus on a career path that matches their skills and interests while meeting the requirements of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Students receive the SHSM seal on their diploma.

DECA

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in hospitality, marketing, law, finance and management in high schools and post-secondary institutions across Ontario.

One of Woodbridge’s biggest clubs and Canada's largest youth business organization, DECA gives students the opportunity to experience what real life business is all about. For up-to-date information, please speak to the DECA executive team or one of the teacher advisors.

Certificate of Endorsement in Business 

Upon completion of a minimum of five Business Studies credits, receive a special certificate at graduation. Show prospective employers and post-secondary institutions that you have an interest, aptitude and special skills in business. Speak to the Business Studies department head for more information.​
