Science

The science team at Woodbridge College is a dedicated group of teachers that aim to improve scientific inquiry and knowledge in all students. (student learning and achievement)  Our science teachers work hard to create safe and comfortable spaces in their classrooms to optimize student learning and curiosity. Lessons are designed with the learner in mind and the goal that every student feels engaged in the curriculum. Execution of lessons may involve demonstrations,  rich task problem solving as group work, and laboratory investigations designed and run by students.  We try to foster collaboration among peers through guided conversations using vertical surfaces. Students engage in deep conversations to address a learning goal such that the process of reaching an answer is more celebrated than the answer itself.  To capture the authentic learner a variety of assessment tools are used, this includes the triangulation of products, observations and conversations.
